Moray Firth Cruiser Race at Invergordon Boating Club

by Dave Bilsland 22 Jun 2010 06:44 PDT 19 June 2010

Invergordon Boating Club held its annual Moray Firth Cruiser Race on Saturday 19th June. The start was as usual off Findhorn and the slow handicap class sailed direct to the finish at Cromarty. The medium and fast handicap yachts sailed to a mark off Nairn and then back to the finish at Cromarty via the channel marks.

The wind was fresh from the North which gave testing conditions; one or two boats set off for the start and decided that conditions were too much for them.

The fast handicap class was won by Peter Baxter sailing his Rustler 42 Red Ruth from Cromarty Boat Club. John Prentice, from Invergordon Boating Club, won the medium handicap class in Circe, a Contessa 32 and the slow handicap was won by Mike Burns sailing Fram, a Folksong 25 from Chanonry Sailing Club.
