Cork County Council IFDS Worlds 2013 at Kinsale Yacht Club - Day 1

by Claire Bateman 26 Aug 2013 14:48 PDT 25-30 August 2013

No racing today due to lack of wind

It was to be down to business today at Kinsale for the Official start of racing at the Cork County Council IFDS World Sailing Championships.

After the high of yesterday's outstanding weather with it's magic sailing conditions for the practice race prior to the commencement of racing, the weather today presented a different scene. The AP was flying from the committee boat and competitors were seen to be relaxing everywhere on the marina but today was not to be the day.

Waiting for the wind to fill is always tedious and even tiring for the sailors who are eager to be off, but for the Race Officers and officials it is nothing short of a nightmare that they hope will soon be overcome with the arrival of a breeze, any breeze, from anywhere or any direction but such was not to be today so all racing has been postponed until tomorrow, Tuesday.
