GME's quiet achiever receives prestigious industry award

Tibor Bece GME's General Manager of Research and Innovation has been recognised by his peer group as the 2018 winner of the ARCIA NSW Division's Industry Excellence award for his significant contribution to the Australian radio communications industry.
Tibor a 25-year GME veteran was presented with the 2018 NSW Radio Communications award at the Australian Radio Communications Industry Association Comms Connect Gala Dinner in Sydney last week.
The nominees for the award are proposed by the general ARCIA membership, then voted on by the executive committee; Determination of the award winner is based on specific criteria which incorporates the nominees' contribution in the areas of: commitment, leadership, innovation, team work and service.
In presenting the award, Martin McLeod, ARCIA's MC for the night made special mention of Tibor's low profile, but substantial and ongoing contribution to design innovation and radio engineering excellence.
Commenting, after the presentation, Warwick Clancy, GME's managing director and long-time colleague expanded; "Tibor's role at GME can never be understated or undervalued, he has been intimately involved in the design of every GME product for more than twenty-five years, this includes our UHF CB, Emergency Beacons, Professional and Marine Radio. Over the years Tibor's integration of new technologies, like DSP in UHF CB for example, set new standards in performance and circuit efficiency. Congratulations Tibor, everyone at GME will be absolutely thrilled for you this evening".
ARCIA, is a national, not for profit association, recognised as the peak industry body representing the two-way and associated wireless radio communications industry within Australia.
ARCIA's mandate includes the promotion of issues such as the protection and effective utilisation of the radio communications spectrum. It also works to improve the expertise of those who are employed in radio communications as well as promoting public knowledge of the vital role that the radio communications industry plays in Australia's way of life.
Tibor will now be the NSW nominee for the highly prestigious ARCIA National Industry Professional of the Year award announced at the Comms Connect function in Melbourne during November.
