Angelo San Giorgio, General Manager, Cobalt Boats of Victoria © Cobalt Boats Australia
I've always had a passion for fishing and the ocean and I purchased my first boat before I bought my first car.
I've been privileged to have held numerous positions within the boating industry. Career highlights include:
- Editor and Senior Boat Tester, TrailerBoat magazine
- Field Editor, Trade-a-Boat magazine, Australia and New Zealand
- Co-ordinator and Judge of Australia's Greatest Boats for four years
- Director of Operations, Whittley Marine Group
- Co-Designed the 2006 Fishing Boat of the Year, the Haines Hunter Pro-Strike - Australia's first tournament-grade high-performance Bass Boat
- Senior Sales Consultant with two of Australia's largest boating retailers: JV Marine and New World Marine
- Marine Electronics Coach
Oh, and I share my birth year with Cobalt...1968...that's got to be an omen, right?
I plan to ensure Cobalt's continued success as the number 1 premium sports boat brand in Victoria. We also aim to provide a level of service and accountability that will be the envy of our competitors. But more than that, I want every customer, past, present and future to have fun and get the most out of their investment by completely understanding and exploiting all the subtle nuances that sets their Cobalts apart from lesser boats.
I'd also like to establish an owner's club where like-minded boaters can share and grow their Cobalt experiences in a collaborative and nurturing environment.
What I love most about Cobalt Boats is the attention to detail and an almost pathological obsession with trying to eke every last useable millimetre out of every hull they produce. I've just got back from the busy factory in Kansas and am happy to report that the "Compromise Nothing" tagline is still the company's guiding principle.
My dream Cobalt is hands down, the new A36 Bowrider. I had the pleasure of driving this boat in Texas a couple of weeks ago and my world is still rocked. Cobalt's legendary quality and finish are a given, but the sweeping lines of the new A36 Bowrider give it a more menacing posture, particularly in the charcoal grey hull colour. It's got enough space to accomodate an entire footy team yet it's "chuckable" and handles like a much smaller sports boat when urged. Plus there's a hidden compact cabin that's perfect for a little cuddle-time with the missus. Win, Win Win.
If you're a current Victorian Cobalt owner, expect a call from me over the next couple of days. I'd like to catch up with each of you on the water to chat about your Cobalt experience and how I can help you enhance it. If you're looking to sell, or buy or just can't wait to get the low-down on the new guy, my number is PH: 0498 005 579.
