Following the announcement of a USA stand at the Sydney International Boat Show, the Polish have advised of a similar representation. Over 22,000 yachts are produced annually in Poland.

The speciality of their industry is motor yachts 6-9m long and Poland is the second manufacturer in the world in this category, after the United States. Yachts and boats manufactured in Poland are appreciated all over the world. They are known for their quality, workmanship and attention to detail.

However, Australian boat builders will be well represented at the show and Riviera will premiere four world-class models as part of an exceptional nine-boat display. In the spotlight will be the new Riviera 545 SUV, boasting a full-beam master suite offering the space and comfort that Rivieria is famous for. This yacht shares the blue water hull, open cockpit and accommodation plan of Riviera's newly-launched 54 Enclosed Flybridge vessel along with a free-flowing saloon that's tailor-made for entertaining. Joining the four premiere models at the show is the 68 Sports Motor Yacht, 445 SUV, 43 Open Flybridge and 395 SUV and 39 Sports Motor Yacht.

Boating Syndication Australia has announced a seven-boat display that will include the Australian debut of a 30-foot boat as well as BSA's most popular model, the Riviera M400 sports cruiser, a Riviera 5000 Series II and 5800 Sport Yacht and Sunseeker 55 and 63 motor yachts. "This is our most comprehensive display ever," said Boating Syndication CEO Andy Young. "We will have shares available for all boating enthusiasts, from $29,000 for a share in a Riviera M400 to $175,000 for one eighth of the Manhattan 63." Mr Young said the new 33-footer is a versatile sports cruiser with space for ten people on a day outing and four for overnights so she is perfect for fun on the harbour or for extended coastal cruising.

Local multihull dealer, Multihull Central, have again brought together a large display for the show from 1-5th August at Darling Harbour, including two new Seawind sailing catamarans and two new Aquila power catamarans. Heading the Seawind fleet is the award winning 41ft Seawind 1260.

People in the news includes the new CEO at Navico. Parent company to the Lowrance®, Simrad®, B&G® and C-MAP® brands announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Knut Frostad as President and Chief Executive Officer - assuming the role of outgoing chief executive, Leif Ottosson. "We thank Leif Ottosson for leading ten years of transformation and growth in Navico," said Hugo Maurstad, chairman of the board of Navico. "Under his management, revenues have doubled, and we have seen a manyfold increase in earnings as well as significant improvements to our supply chain and R&D programs."
