Attention turns to Auckland next month with the opening of the Auckland On Water Boat Show. Both of Australia's premier power boat builders will be exhibiting.
Maritimo, is preparing for its largest Auckland exhibit, with a range of new vessels embarking on the Tasman crossing under their own power for the annual event. Maritimo will display models from its' M-Series and X-Series ranges which are both in high demand in New Zealand with orders out into late 2020. New Zealand has largely been one of Maritimo's most successful markets due to the functionality of Maritimo vessels suited to the country's diverse coastal conditions and boating culture.
Our other major builder, Riviera, will invite New Zealand boating enthusiasts to step aboard for the first time, three outstanding new models at the show from October 3-6. To be held on Viaduct Harbour in the heart of the City of Sails, the boat show will host the New Zealand premieres of the outstanding 5400 Platinum Edition Sport Yacht, 395 SUV and 54 Enclosed Flybridge as part of an impressive seven-boat, red carpet showcase held in partnership with R Marine Flagship.
NSW builder, Steber International, recently invited NSW Police and Emergency Services Minister, David Elliott to inspect the Steber factory complex at Taree. Mr Elliott, accompanied by Myall Lakes MP, Steve Bromhead. Steber General Manager, Alan Steber, said the minister was particularly proud of the efforts of the company - establishing itself in regional NSW and employing local apprentices.
Not to be outdone by our power boat builders, production at the NSW Central Coast factory of Performance Sailcraft Australia is in full swing as the company looks ahead to a busy summer of Laser sailing in Australia. Laser 2020 begins on January 1 with the Australian Laser Championships at Sandringham Yacht Club, followed by the Oceania Championships at Sail Melbourne later that month. The Laser Standard and Men's and Women's Radial World Championships will be sailed at Sandringham in February, followed by the Oceania/Australian and World Laser Masters Championships at Geelong in March. Jason Goulding, PSA Sales and Customer Service Manager, says the company will produce between 400 and 450 new Lasers in 2019 for the coming Summer.
Well known yachtsman and businessman Phil Yeomans has announced that his company DeckHardware is now looking after the promotion and distribution of the iconic Goldspar range, there is more to the story than two Companies coming together. Over 50 years ago Phil Yeomans walked into his Father's office and met Doug Rawson-Harris who was starting out at the Architect Firm working with Colin Madigan. Phil remembers his Father mentioning the work done on the Warringah Council Library at Dee Why, New South Wales, as well as a number of other prominent Australian Buildings. And from the electronics market FLIR Systems and Excess Catamarans have announced a partnership between FLIR's award-winning Raymarine brand and Groupe Beneteau's new catamaran brand, Excess. In an extension of the partnership between the companies, Raymarine instruments will be fitted as standard on the Excess range. The partnership combines the performance sailing features of Raymarine instrumentation with the sophisticated, sporty style of the Excess range.
