The hull of S/Y 42m GTS, the second vessel in the E-volution Gallery, has arrived in Viareggio from the Perini Navi yard in Tuzla, Turkey, for fitting out. Delivery is scheduled for spring 2021.

Developed on the same platform as the first 42m E-volution, with Perini Navi concept and styling and Reichel/Pugh Yacht Design naval architecture, this second vessel is built from a combination of lightweight aluminium and carbon-fibre to deliver the superior performances required to meet the needs of her regatta-enthusiast owner.

The sloop-rigged S/Y 42m E-volution GTS has a Panamax mast (62.5m), square top mainsail and a 4m bowsprit to accentuate the power of her 1,250 sqm sail area. Her keel has a maximum draught of 7.4m. To further boost performance, the deckhouse and various other fit-out items have been made from carbon-fibre and the propulsion system has been optimised. This is, in other words, a yacht crafted to maximise performance under sail while guaranteeing stability and comfort on long passages.

Designed in-house by Perini Navi's Style & Design Director Franco Romani, this particular vessel pairs the E-volution series' features, which include clean lines, generous spaces and a large stern platform, with a sleeker, sportier deckhouse profile.

The interior design will be created by GCA of Barcelona.

"It is always a huge pleasure to see a new yacht," comments Perini Navi Chairman & CEO Lamberto Tacoli. "This second S/Y 42m E-volution, which is also the first GTS version in the series, is the perfect symbiosis of comfort and performance, and we are receiving a very positive response to it. Thanks to the E-volution, Classic and Falcon Rig galleries, we now finally have a complete range of sailing yachts capable of meeting our clients' different requirements".

The yard's production plans currently span the building of seven yachts, five of which are sailing and two motor yachts. Specifically:

  • S/Y 42m E-volution;
  • S/Y 42m E-volution GTS;
  • S/Y 42m E-volution on spec;
  • S/Y 47m E-volution;
  • S/Y 60m Classic;
  • M/Y 53m Voyager;
  • M/Y 56m Voyager.
