One of Redcar-based Typhoon International's manufacturing plants International Safety Products (ISP), whose name is normally associated with the manufacture of marine survival equipment, is to start making vital and essential equipment for the NHS to help tackle the COVID-19 crisis.

Although ISP, based in Bootle, Merseyside, is one of Europe's largest manufacturer of marine inflatable lifejackets it also has a background in military clothing and other accessories.

The company's workforce is no stranger therefore to meeting manufacturing quality and efficiency standards and is in a strong position to adapt its production line over a tight timescale due to the flexibility it has always offered customers for bespoke products.

"The company is delighted to support the NHS during this unprecedented time", comments Typhoon International MD, Andrew Richards.

ISP supplies own label products for the leisure and commercial customers, as well as army, naval and rescue contracts around the world, ISP delivers system supply contracts for total safety product packages, particularly to the offshore oil industry.
