Selden 2020 - LEADERBOARD

Whittley releases new CR 2380 OB and is out in force at the 2020 Sanctuary Cove Boating Festival

by Alan Whittley 23 Oct 2020 01:49 PDT

Australia's leading trailerable fiberglass boat builder, Whittley Marine Group and retail sales arm Whittley Queensland Sales is set to release the new CR 2380 Outboard (OB) at this year's Sanctuary Cove Boating Festival (13-15th of November). Whittley Boats new CR 2380 OB is a purpose built, legally trailerable outboard powered sports cruiser that's designed for the unique Queensland boating lifestyle & perfect for the Gold Coast boat buyer!

The new outboard powered model enables beach and shallow water access from the rear with ease. More storage at the rear of the boat is available where the sterndrive once went without compromising large areas of the swim platform space. As well as the leg and prop also being able to be tilted up out of the water, lowering maintenance costs during mooring. Alongside the new CR 2380 OB will also be the recently released larger cruiser CR 2600 OB model, both on display at this year's show.

Laurie Jackson, Sales Manager at Whittley Queensland Sales, had this to say about the exciting new model announcement. "Since we opened our new showroom at The Boat Works, we have listened to feedback from the Queensland market. Customers asked if we could provide an outboard powered, lighter boat package, with the ability to trim the engine up and enjoy more room in the swim platform; we listened and believe we have delivered with the new CR2380 OB. We feel strongly that with the new model, this will further building on the sales success that the company has experienced since opening the new Queensland business in January this year."

Eye catching and spacious, the tightly drawn lines and subtle curves hint at something special and stepping on-board only confirms your first impression. Making the most of its 2.45m beam, the CR 2380 is both spacious and innovative. An elegant helm console with twin seats provides the captain and first mate a commanding view through the panoramic windscreen. Ergonomics have been well considered and everything falls easily to hand. The sliding curved solid cabin door option further reflects the detail Whittley is renowned for.

Neville Whittley, Managing Director at Whittley Boats, had this to say. "The new Whittley CR 2380 OB combines the award-winning quality of the sterndrive version, with the widely known benefits of outboard power. The outboard version offers additional storage and cabin space, whilst still providing a wraparound swim platform at the rear of the boat. Customers can enjoy increased reliability and lower service costs from an outboard engine; one of the many reasons why we have seen outboard powered packages continue to increase in popularity. We certainly look forward to showing customers our latest outboard powered cruiser at the marina village at this year's Sanctuary Cove Boating Feastival Show."

Making owning a boat a reality has become even easier with Yamaha's industry leading financial services, another unique feature to purchasing a Yamaha powered Whittley. Whittley enjoys a long term OEM supply partnership with Yamaha Motor's Australia. Under the partnership customers can access competitive finance options via Yamaha Financial Services, YMF and YMI.

Mr Jackson continued to say, "The CR 2380 OB ticks many of the boxes that Australian families want in an all-round weekender package. The removable rear clears enable maximised airflow for those hot days, and the optional lockable cabin door mid ship means valuables can be kept safe while the boat is docked. Being under the legal towing beam of 2.5m allows customers to trailer their boat, nearly anywhere, anytime, with a suitable tow vehicle; making trips to the Whitsundays and other unique locations a reality. With every new boat sold, we even sign up each new customer to Club Whittley QLD where they will have the opportunity to explore new boating locations with the confidence of a friendly and knowledgeable owner's group."

Whittley Boats will have on display at this year's show popular models from the CR 'family cruiser' series including the CR 2080 SD, CR 2380 OB and CR 2600 OB. In addition to this, there will be the SL series of 'high quality performance offshore' models including the SL 20 OB, SL 22 HT OB and SL 25 HT OB, and the affordable range of FF series of 'family fishing' models with the FF 1650 and FF 1950. Although the CR 2600 OB was released online earlier in the year, the show will be the first time that the new model has been on display to the Queensland boat buying public.

Neville Whittley finished by saying that. "Whittley Boats and new dealership Whittley Queensland Sales, will be running show specials on this new model and the entire Whittley range at this year's Sanctuary Cove Boating Festival. This year's show will be first for the new Queensland retail business owned by the Whittley Family. Buy local, support local manufacturing jobs and enjoy the many benefits that come with owning a Whittley Boat, by buying at this year's show!"

The Sanctuary Cove Boating Festival is the country's premier new boat buying show, located in the heart of the Sanctuary Cove Marina Village.
