What does a day onboard Golden Horizon look like?

Hopefully you've heard about new Golden Horizon - the World's largest square-rigged sailing vessel - from Tradewind Voyages. She's setting sail for her inaugural season this summer in UK waters!

You don't have to be a seasoned sailor to enjoy her itineraries; if you have a sense of adventure and passion for the sea then you'll find yourself very much at home aboard. Feel the power of her billowing sails, and follow the sun, from UK waters to the Mediterranean, Persian Gulf, Indian Ocean, Java Sea and the other side of the world around Australia.

Aside from the sheer delight of the tall ship sailing experience, this ship offers a luxurious retreat, allowing you to make the choice between getting involved in astro-navigation or after-dinner drinks on a daily basis!

We've taken a look at what a typical day might look like:

Morning

Pick up the daily programme and see what the day has in store. You can select a quiz to play whilst having breakfast or head to the Upper Deck for your first ever t'ai chi class. When in dock (or at anchor) the marina opens if you want to go sailing, or step ashore to explore markets and museums. Some days it will feel like you have the deck all to yourself. Spend time by the pool in the sunshine or venture below deck for a soothing massage in the spa.

Afternoon

Order a light lunch from either the Horizon Bar or Dining Room, or try a tasty pasta salad bowl on the Upper Deck. You can spend more time relaxing by the pool under a cloudless sky or get active and join one of the many fitness classes on offer.

There's time for a sauna and a hammam at sea, or a lazy afternoon watching a movie. You can also retreat to a sunbed (or the library) to enjoy a good book and the chance of an afternoon snooze.

Evening

Kick off the evening with cocktail hour, listening to dramatic music while the sails billow and lift the ship from the sea just a little.

Have a drink at the Piano Bar and decide where the evening will take you - watching the game show at the Horizon Bar, perhaps, or chatting to new friends over a whisky at Debeljak's Bar. You can enjoy a delicious meal in the Dining Room, dance to the sound of our talented musicians or opt for a night under the stars, learning about the night sky during a star-gazing lecture. If you'd like to pre-order breakfast to be delivered to your cabin in the morning. We highly recommend tucking into Eggs Benedict while soaking up the ocean views from your balcony.

Sounds like the perfect blend of sailing and settling back to us!
