Bayview Mackinac Race - New Shore Course record set

OC86 has now set a new Official Record for the Shore Course for Bayview Mackinac Race. The previous course record was set by the Volvo70 "Il Mostro" in 2013 with a time of 19:11:31. OC86 has bettered this record by an impressive two hours setting the new Course record at 17:11:18.

The boat is now named OC86 was formally Windquest and was donated to Oakcliff sailing by businessman and sailing champion Doug DeVos. Oakcliff Sailing Center, a non-profit sailing academy that hosts the US Sailing Team Training Center.

According to Greg Thomas, 2021 Bayview Mackinac Chair. "It was perfect conditions for this race. Fresh breezes, small waves, and great speed. You couldn't ask for more, and everyone loves a Sunday finish. It gives you an extra day on this beautiful island."
