AkzoNobel's yacht coatings business will be highlighting the continued success its portfolio of products has experienced in the European boating market at this year's HISWA Boat Show.

In recent years, the business has launched a range of market-leading products in Europe, a number of which they will be showcasing at HISWA - from award-winning, mirror-like topcoats, to antifoulings specifically developed to offer the best protection in Dutch waters.

The latest innovation from AkzoNobel that will be highlighted at HISWA is the new single pack topside system from its International® range: One UP (Undercoat and Primer) and Toplac Plus.

One UP is a versatile undercoat and primer that offers boaters a faster application time by combining the benefits of both an undercoat and primer into one coating without any loss of performance. The unique formulation provides protection on multiple substrates and helps enhance the finish of International's one-part finishes.

The silicone alkyd premium gloss topcoat, Toplac® Plus, is suitable for all substrates above the waterline, stays glossy for longer and is available in a wide range of colours.

Toplac Plus can be applied using a brush or roller, and because of the new product's superior flow and levelling, tipping by brush is no longer required to obtain a perfect finish. This makes Toplac Plus quicker and easier to use and suitable for Do-It-Yourself boaters and professionals.

For local boat owners and professionals, AkzoNobel will also exhibit Micron® LZ, a polishing antifouling that has been specifically developed for Dutch waters. It uses eroding technology to prevent layer thickness build-up and offers protection for a full sailing season.

Michael van Harmelen, Regional Marketing Manager for Europe and APAC, says: "As an industry leader in high performance luxury yacht coatings we're always striving to innovate.

"That's why we designed products like One Up and Toplac Plus with input from boaters and applicators around the world - in order to offer coatings solutions that can match and exceed the needs and expectations of our customers and their boats, as well as save them time and money.

"These products show our steadfast commitment to pushing the boundaries of product performance, but also how our coatings play a vital role in helping to protect the environment too.

"We have enjoyed a great year in the European region and we are excited to be able to continue this success, as well as showcase a number of our other innovations, at this year's HISWA Boat Show."

HISWA te Water Boat Show will be held in Batavia Haven in Lelystad, August 31 - September 4, 2022.
