The Egis Mobile Electric XD Series Triple Flex Relay received the 2022 IBEX Innovation Award in the Electrical Systems category during the IBEX Online Experience Industry Breakfast last week.
Innovation Awards Judge Ben Stein said, "Egis' XD Series Triple Flex Relay offers simple configuration and rich functionality. Its modular approach reduces components and complexity."
Perfect for a typical dual-battery boat, the XD Series Triple Flex Relay combines three independently controllable, high amperage relays to reduce installation space, weight, time, and total cost by up to 70%. Each relay's automatic or remote response profile is programmed via integrated dip switches under a sealed cover. This allows each relay to act as either a simple remote relay/battery switch or an automatic charging relay.
Providing all necessary battery isolation, automatic charge management and emergency parallel for a typical dual battery bank vessel in an ultra-compact footprint, the Triple XD provides boat builders with the copper cable reduction benefits that typical individual relays offer, but with significantly less space and wiring.
Installation of the Triple XD will also help to eliminate inadvertent dead battery situations that often occur when boaters do not fully understand the mechanical battery switches and leave their battery banks combined when the engine is not running.
Nominated for a DAME Award, the Egis XD Series Triple Flex Relay, as well as the entire XD series family of products, will be introduced to the European boating industry on stand 02.115 at METSTRADE 2022 in Amsterdam, November 15-17.
