NZMOA awards are open

by New Zealand Marina Operators Association 19 Feb 2024 22:37 PST

The New Zealand Marina Operators Association (NZMOA) is pleased to announce that entries have opened in the NZMOA Awards for 2024.

The program recognises New Zealand's very best and most innovative and progressive marinas, boatyards and suppliers to the industry.

"We are proud of the New Zealand industry, it's doing great things to contribute to environmental improvement, and to provide opportunities through economic development," says NZMOA Chair Chris Galbraith. "Recognising and celebrating that is fun and worthwhile."

"Some of our smallest teams are doing great work and one of the strengths of this program is that it provides a fair playing field for smaller operations to enter and be evaluated by judges," he says, encouraging smaller operations and regional operations to take part.

There are five categories:

  • Marina of the Year
  • Boatyard of the Year
  • Outstanding Initiative Award for Full Members
  • Outstanding Initiative Award for Associate Members
  • Outstanding Individual Contribution to the Industry.
"An outstanding initiative could be a marina development project, an employment innovation, or a new environmental system, a product or a service. We had some exciting entries in this category in 2022, and that's why we split it out to recognise marinas, boatyards and suppliers to the industry in 2024."

Organised by the New Zealand Marina Operators Association, the awards were established in 2018 to recognise and celebrate excellent practice in the marinas industry.

Five independent judges joined a team of industry experts to judge the programme including marine journalists and business and industry leaders.

The NZMOA Awards are sponsored by Dixon Stainless, Heron Group Limited, Crombie Lockwood, Boatsmart HQ, Gofuel and Bellingham Marine.

Entries are open now and you can get started at www.nzmoa.com/awards.
