The TYBA Yacht Charter Show, a 5-day B2B event, wrapped up on May 7th with an overwhelmingly positive atmosphere.
Hosted by TYBA Yachting and Brokers Association (TYBA) since 2018, the event has emerged as a pivotal gathering for the global yachting community. This year's showcase boasted 52 luxury yachts, some reaching up to 55 meters in length, attracting nearly 350 charter brokers and 20 exhibitor companies from 18 countries. Moreover, the event welcomed prominent international and local yacht press members and an influencer to spotlight Türkiye's offerings in global yacht tourism, highlighting its natural beauty, cultural richness, top-notch facilities, and luxurious vessels, including traditional Gulet sailing yachts.
The TYBA Yacht Charter Show continued to foster closer ties among industry players, facilitating crucial deals. Each day, networking events were held aboard the showcased yachts, providing ample opportunities for interaction among participants.
The opening ceremony of the fair was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests including Fethiye Mayor Alim Karaca, Fethiye Chamber of Trade President Osman Çirali, IMEAK Chamber of Shipping Fethiye Branch President Ilkay Tugay, Bodrum Branch President Orhan Dinç as well as local and foreign guests and journalists.
Fethiye Mayor Alim Karaca spoke at the ceremony, emphasizing their initiatives to boost Türkiye's tourism promotion. He also applauded TYBA for their commitment to raising awareness about Turkish yacht tourism.
After the completion of the show Günes Aysun, President of TYBA, shared his thoughts on this year's show:
"This year marked the 3rd edition of the TYBA Yacht Charter Show at D Marin Göcek, and the 5th overall. We observed increased interest from both local and international agencies and media compared to previous years. Due to space constraints, we were limited to approximately 50 exhibited yachts within D Marin's premises, with a few additional boats hosted in Alarga. While I believe the ideal number of exhibited yachts could reach 60 for optimal viewing, exceeding this may diminish the overall experience. Our events followed the familiar program structure, albeit with a few minor hiccups, which we aim to address in the future. Compared to previous years, we've experienced a notable increase in press coverage, indicating a more enduring presence in the international yacht charter calendar."
H. Serhan Cengiz, TYBA Vice President and Chair of the Yacht Charter Show Committee, also commented:
"Our TYBA Yacht Charter Show @D Marin Gocek, which we have successfully completed for the fifth time this year, has reinforced its place in yachting calendars as one of the important shows held in the Mediterranean basin. The diversity, abundance, and excellence of the showcased yachts received praise from both local and international attendees, as well as the yachting press. Year after year, we've raised the bar of success for our show and are pleased with its current standing. By expanding exhibitor numbers, attracting foreign brokers, and increasing media involvement, we're actively promoting Turkish yacht tourism. Looking ahead, we're dedicated to further improvement, fueled by the voluntary support of our association members."
