Northeast Sailmakers, Inc. founded

by Edward R. Padin 1 Jun 2024 07:36 PDT

Conny Baris, owner of UK Sailmakers Northeast, is proud to announce the formation of Northeast Sailmakers, Inc. which recently purchased Mark Ploch's Doyle Sails New York.

Northeast Sailmakers will run UK|NE & Doyle NY as separate divisions, now located together at 161 East Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck, NY in the Safe Harbor Post Road Marina. Conny is excited to bring UK|NE, the oldest sailmaking business in North America, and Doyle Sails New York together under one roof, giving sailors the choice of two great sailmakers in one convenient location.

The personal service that has been enjoyed over the years at both lofts will remain in place at the Mamaroneck offices. Emmett Dickheiser and Kevin Crouchley will continue to lead the UK|NE team with UK Sailmakers' patriarch Butch Ulmer consulting. Dave Martin, Adam Loory, and Kurt Wohler will continue to provide sail plan solutions to their UKNE customers. Mark Ploch's expertise will still helm Doyle Sails day to day operations. The Doyle NY sales team remains intact; salesmen Paul Beaudin, John Savage, and Rich Gold will continue to be available to assist and advise their customers.

"Providing more choices is only part of the benefit Northeast Sailmakers brings," said Baris, "We have combined our Loft personnel to create the Northeast Sail Loft, LLC where ALL makes of sails can be serviced. This modern sail loft has multiple service areas staffed by sailmaking professionals. The loft team can also make and repair most canvas items including dodgers, Bimini tops, binnacle and sail covers. We look forward to seeing you at our convenient downtown Mamaroneck location with plenty of parking!"
