Yellowfin takes New South Wales shores by storm

by BRP 29 Jul 2024 23:38 PDT 1-4 August 2024

Set to take stage as one of the latest model releases in the Australian marine market to feature at the Sydney International Boat Show, the Yellowfin Extended Cabin range is set to take New South Wales by storm as one of the most innovative, groundbreaking plate boat models in the country.

What's said to be Australia's biggest boat show event will hand its nearly 50,000 global visitors one of the first opportunities to touch, see and experience the new fleet of Yellowfin Plate Boats with the YF-70 and YF-76F on display at the Hunts Marine and TR Marine stands, located at areas 101 - 104.

The prestigious four-day event, between Thursday 1st - Sunday 4th August 2024, will put the new Yellowfin design in the spotlight showcasing the overhauled design from hull, to fit and finish.

Grounded by the ever-popular ex-Southerner design, the Extended Cabin takes Bluewater fishing to the next level, elevating the lineup from all levels.

"Contrary to the name, the Southerner continues to be one of the most popular offshore fishing boats across Australia, so we relaunched the range with a complete overhaul, inclusive of a new name that speaks more to the configuration than one region," Lloyd Jaber, Global Product Strategy Manager, BRP Marine (APAC) said.

Featuring the latest hull iteration in the HD-R hull, the Extended Cabin range delivers unmatched ride performance, with increased stability, and cut through following a reconfiguration of the planing strakes and centre of gravity of the preceding Offshore HD Hull design.

Whilst the scientifically engineered Inter-Lok Core takes strength to another level. Optimised for offshore conditions, the Inter-Lok core features 2 full-height stringers, 8 full-length one-piece stringers, and interlocking gibs for utmost robustness and durability.

Moving to the interior, the Extended Cabin features an array of standard features, exclusive to the range including full floor EVA Matting and trim for its heat-resistant and non-slip properties, whilst delivering enhanced comfort afoot, reduced vibration and noise, and elevated aesthetics.

An overhauled cabin design has seen up to a 45% increase in cabin space, allowing three people to stand side-by-side at the helm, whilst delivering enhanced dash real estate enabling a 16" and 19" sounder to fit side-by-side, and a widened cabin entry.

Together with a reengineered ergonomic layout, the Yellowfin Extended Cabin range also features all-new seating which can be upgraded with suspension, for increased comfort for the captain and six other passengers. Bolster cushions now come standard on the seat-box behind the navigator and helm seat, for additional seating plus both models can be upgraded with a removable rear lounge.

Built as standard with a full-sealed self-draining floor, offshore compass, reel easy rod holders, push button switch panel, various heavy-duty grab handles, a transom cutting board, and much more, the Extended Cabin range is designed with one thing in mind: blue-water fishing.

"The design is derived from customer and dealer feedback, and the minds of our industry leading Research and Development team. The end result; a product that exceeds expectations, meets unmet needs and raises the bar of the offshore fishing industry," Lloyd said.

"We are hungry to continue innovating and breaking ground with new designs - the Extended Cabin range is a testament to that. It is an extremely proud moment to bring the Extended Cabin range to SIBS and deliver a high-end range of plate boats to every Australian, whilst maintaining one of the most competitive, attainable price-point in the market."

The range comes available in two elevated configurations: the Extended Cabin as standard, and the optioned-up Fishing Edition.

Crafted to meet the needs of avid offshore fisho, the Fishing Edition includes a range of fishing-centric features including deluxe bait station, deck wash, lockable roller door, dual suspension seats, underwater lights, Garmin VHF radio and much more, plus an exclusive U-Dek and stripe colour only available on Fishing Edition models.

"Having a brand with such strong lineage, we celebrate our 40th anniversary this year by elevating one of our best-selling offshore fishing boats to offer premium features as, as well as improving the core technologies which give our brand the advantage it has over the industry," Lloyd said.

"Experienced fishos will be proud to know that our very own Fishing Ambassador Michael Guest has inspired us to release the special Fishing Edition version of our boat which offers exclusive features and takes fishing to the next level."

Driven towards offering a high-quality, affordably priced plate boat option for every Australian fisho, the Extended Cabin is one of seven model configurations with the Yellowfin fleet alongside a range of Console, Centre Cabin, Soft and Hard-Top Cabin boats.

Following decades of boating expertise, Yellowfin has established a reputation for delivering high-performing, industry-leading plate boats that are built to last generations.

Part in parcel with the brands quality standards comes four quality control stages through the development process. Furthermore, over 150-hours goes into hand-building each model, performed by a specially selected team of the industry's top fabricators and boat builders, within the Gold Coast, Queensland factory.
