Andoo Team Australia announces America's Cup skippers and welcomes new partners

by Team Australia Challenge 3 Sep 2024 05:10 PDT

Having secured naming title partner Andoo, the Australian campaign for the Youth and Women's America's Cup Team have welcomed new brand sponsorship partners this month with Myer signing on as Platinum Partner and Gold Sponsors ExpenseMe and Ray White Commercial (RWC) joining the campaign.

The first ever Women's America's Cup and a Youth competition will welcome back Australia to the world's most prestigious sailing competition being held in Barcelona, Spain over the coming two months.

This week the campaign named team skippers to lead each competition, with Cole Tapper named for the Australian squad in the Unicredit Youth America's Cup and Olympian Olivia Price to lead the team into the Puig Women's America's Cup.

Myer has joined as a Platinum level sponsor to support this elite level and historic first for women in sailing to have a dedicated Women's competition between 12 nations.

ExpenseMe is an Australian owned expense management software brand with founders deeply connected to sailing and the America's Cup over several decades.

RWC are lending expertise to help in fundraising for the team and will engage their own agents with the elite level athletes and campaign leadership of Andoo Team Australia, including Patron John Bertrand, AO.

Sponsors joined a gala farewell event for the squad at the club of record, the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA) in Sydney on Friday evening, August 30.

The Uncredit Youth America's Cup starts in Barcelona on September 17th with Australia taking to the water on the incredible AC40 foiling yachts in Group 2 on September 18th. The Puig Women's America's Cup will start on October 5th with Australia hitting the water on October 6th in the Group 2 regatta which runs until October 10th before the final Match Race on October 13th.

All racing is set to be broadcast on Fox Sports in Australia with the two competitions interweaving with the Louis Vuitton 37th America's Cup racing series, providing maximum exposure for this watershed moment for women in sailing.
