FPT Industrial, the Iveco Group brand dedicated to the design, production, and sale of powertrains and solutions for on- and off-road vehicles, as well as marine and power generation applications, is ready to take a step towards an increasingly zero-emission marine world.

As the year begins with the celebration of IVECO's 50th anniversary, FPT Industrial is pleased to announce the entry of its ePowertrain portfolio to the marine sector. This marks a significant milestone following years of leadership in the on-road electrified market, during which the Brand has developed cutting-edge technologies that are now the foundations for the outstanding reliability of these products.

AS Labruna, FPT Industrial official distributor, recognized the potential of this choice. The company has, indeed, placed the eBS 37 EVO at the heart of the HEVOlution 80-37 hybrid generator from the new HEVOlution product range. This cutting-edge offering represents a decisive step towards innovative and carbon-neutral energy solutions and reaffirms AS Labruna's commitment to leading the maritime industry towards a more sustainable and technologically advanced future.

FPT Industrial will also be together with AS Labruna with AS Labruna to showcase the eBS 37 EVO for marine applications at the NauticSud tradeshow in Naples, Italy, from February 8 to 16, 2025, at AS Labruna's booth (Hall 1 - Booth 122)

In order to remain at the forefront of technological advancements and effectively respond to market needs, the Brand created an ePowertrain department in 2018. Since 2022, the ePowertrain department's main hubs based in the R&D centers in Arbon (Switzerland), Coventry (UK) and Turin (Italy) have developed a complete range of innovative products to address the crucial challenges of transport sustainability, the energy transition, and reducing CO2 emissions. Developed for the on-road market, these products have garnered significant market interest and are now being introduced to the marine sector.

Andrea Cugnini, Vice President, FPT Industrial ePowertrain Business Line, confirmed this: "The drive for innovation, which has always guided the development of our products and business, leads us to add a new chapter in the journey towards zero-emission powertrains solutions. Thanks to our many years of experience in the on-road sector, one of our ePowertrain products is now being introduced into the marine sector. This is a very important step that clearly demonstrates how the value of our products can be applied across multiple segments. We are confident that this step will help address the crucial challenges of the sector, where the demand for zero-emission systems will continue to grow in the years to come."

Andrea Arcuraci, Head of Sales EMEA Dealers at FPT Industrial, stated: "We are thrilled to be expanding our range in the marine segment with a product that enhances the competitiveness of our offering. Our distributor network will be able to fully leverage this choice across all markets, effectively implementing the multi-energy strategy we have been pursuing for years, for which today's announcement marks a new step forward."

The eBS 37 EVO is a modular battery pack that incorporates cells and modules with impressive energy density, reducing battery weight. This battery pack presents some substantial innovations compared to the previous version: the eBM 5 Battery Management System by FPT Industrial, and a new internal design which allows the battery to meet the highest safety standard ECE R100.3 and ECE R10.6. Thanks to FPT Industrial's in-house Battery Management System, eBM 5, the eBS 37 EVO offers increased battery life according to mission requirements.

The eBS 37 EVO is moreover "designed for circularity" and benefits from a dedicated and specialized FPT Customer Service team that leads the "4R" approach: Repair (ranging from remote product monitoring to in-field activities), Refurbish (in-house with a dedicated area), Repurpose (through dedicated partnership on second-life reuse) and Recycle (active in all eligible territories).

The eBS 37 EVO is set to play a key role in powering systems that prioritize sustainability, thanks to its impressive versatility. Indeed, this battery pack can be installed to power both full-electric and hybrid applications, which are ideal, for example, for navigation in marine protected areas.
