A huge milestone in boating: International Yacht Training (IYT), a global leader in yacht training and certification, has replaced outdated paper logbooks with the SailTies app, as the preferred method to record boating experience!

This builds on the partnership which already allowed IYT customers to automatically import verified IYT certificates into SailTies.

SailTies is a free mobile app designed to help sailors maintain a comprehensive digital record of their sailing journeys. With features like GPS tracking, voyage summaries, qualification wallet and automatic resume export, SailTies ensures that every nautical mile is logged accurately.

The app's latest update allows skippers to sign off on voyages digitally, providing an authenticated record that meets IYT standards and can now replace traditional paper logbooks. IYT will also use SailTies-generated resumes to evaluate student experience on both their recreational and commercial courses, making the app an essential tool for all aspiring sailors.

"With very little effort from our team, SailTies has transformed how our students can record their sailing. The app provides them with a way to document their voyages and certificates that is fit for 2025. It is also seamless for our staff to evaluate their experience level using the automatic SailTies resume." said Christian Fry of IYT.

"Partnering with IYT has been an exciting journey. We're proud that SailTies is now preferred over paper logbooks, making life easier for sailors worldwide," said Thomas Guy, Co-Founder of SailTies.
