RYA Scotland is one of the foremost volunteer-led Sport Governing Bodies in Scotland, protecting and promoting the interests of Scotland's boating community and the people across nearly 140 RYA Affiliated Clubs, Class Associations and Training Centres in Scotland.

To support this work, RYA Scotland is seeking to appoint two individuals to it's voluntary Board of Directors, an Honorary Treasurer and a Director of Coaching.

RYA Scotland's mission is to inspire, nurture and support people, places and communities to develop themselves, positively influence others, celebrate successes and share a lifelong enjoyment of boating in Scotland across several areas of activity.

RYA Scotland's revised strategy, 'People, Places and Communities' provides more background as to how this work will be brought to life from 2025 onward.

Being a member of the RYA Scotland Board is a great opportunity to apply professional skills and expertise to support the sailing and boating community in Scotland, giving individuals an opportunity to give back and to connect positively with the community.

New Directors will likely be active members of the sailing and boating community, across any aspect of participation. Applicants do not need to be a highly qualified sailor with an impressive sailing CV, but must have a passion for water sports, an ability to work with others and a desire to help develop the sport.

RYA Scotland believes strongly in equality, diversity and inclusion and value very highly the benefits of having different points of view and experiences in the organisation. Accordingly, applications are encouraged from a wide range of talented individuals.

Appointment will be for up to 3 years, although a second term is possible. More information about the RYA Scotland Board and the above roles can be found in an online recruitment pack.

To Apply

If you think you'd be a good fit for either of the above roles, please send your CV and a short covering letter to .

The closing date for applications is Monday 2 June 2025. These roles can also be viewed on the RYA Scotland vacancy page, alongside any other open opportunities.
