The waiting is over and the moment has arrived — The Superyacht Cup Palma 2025 is up and running once again for the 29th time in the home of Mediterranean superyacht sailing.

The owners, captains and crews of the stunning fleet of superyachts gathered in Mallorca today took advantage of the classic sea breeze sailing conditions out on the Bay of Palma to get some final practice in ahead of the start of racing tomorrow, when similar wind is forecast.

"It is looking stunning out there," said SYC Event Director Kate Branagh. "It's pretty hot ashore so all the signs are we will get a strong sea breeze for racing from the first race on Thursday."

Yachts have been arriving over the past few days and mooring alongside each other on the dock at The Superyacht Cup Palma's new Venue Partner the Club de Mar-Mallorca. With the social hub of the SYC Race Village only metres away, the new location is already helping to generate an atmosphere of excitement and anticipation.

"All the captains I have had the chance to meet are delighted by the new venue," said Branagh. "It has been a great move and it is a great location with easy and quick access to the race area — it also offers the potential for future growth, which is an exciting prospect looking ahead."

It's an indication of the appeal of the new venue and Race Village that even those yachts based in Palma have opted to relocate to feel fully part of the regatta.

When racing gets under way the fleet will, as ever at SYC, combine a mix of returnees and event first-timers — not least the Y8 Sveam making her debut regatta appearance anywhere.

Joining the Javier Jaudenes designed Y Yacht in Class B are four more of the Mallorca designer's creations, namely a quartet of the Baltic 68 Café Racers — Ganesha, Scorpione Hormar, Open Season and Pink Gin Verde.

Class B is completed by the 24m Wally yacht Rose, who successfully defended her overall 2023 SYC title last year, and could become the event's first ever three-time winner with another success.

In Class A the Hoek Truly Classic duo of Atalante and Vijonara, and the 39m Tripp designed Cervo, are all returning for a second successive year, and will be up against two SYC first-timers — the Farr designed Southern Wind Gelliceaux and a third Hoek design, the Truly Classic 128 Linnea Aurora.

Racing at The Superyacht Cup Palma 2025 is due to get under way at 13:00 on Thursday, 26 June with the Pantaenius Race Day.
