GX42 superyacht takes shape with major construction milestones achieved

by GX Superyachts 17 Jul 03:42 PDT

GX Superyachts is pleased to share a significant construction update on its flagship 42-metre model, the GX42 — a revolutionary hybrid-powered vessel that leads the brand's vision for Responsible Yachting.

With steady progress at SES Yachts' advanced facilities in Istanbul, Turkey, the project is moving confidently through the build schedule and remains on course for delivery in summer 2026.

Since the successful hull turning and superstructure joining earlier this year, the yacht has entered a new phase of outfitting. The aluminium structure is now fully complete.

Inside, thermal insulation is approximately 80% installed, and the main piping systems have also reached 80% completion. Meanwhile, electrical installation has advanced to 25%, and the paint application is 50% finished.

Bespoke interior furniture — shaped by Marco Casali's design vision — is also progressing well, with 50% of items complete in the workshop.

At the same time, the vessel's advanced hybrid propulsion system, which combines diesel-electric drive with significant solar power generation, has successfully completed its factory testing phase and is now ready for delivery and installation at the shipyard.

"It's inspiring to witness the GX42 taking shape so smoothly, "said Vladimir Zinchenko, founder and CEO of GX Superyachts. "Each milestone reinforces our belief that the GX42 will set a new benchmark in responsible yachting — a vessel that delivers both elegant design and low-impact cruising. Thanks to our partners at SES Yachts, Andrea Armas, Marco Casali and Francesco Rogantin, the project is running smoothly and exceeding expectations."

Refined interiors: A glimpse inside

This May, GX Superyachts unveiled the first interior renderings of the GX42, designed by Marco Casali with a focus on relaxed, family-oriented living.

The Raised Pilot House layout allows for generous accommodation, including a main-deck owner's suite and full-beam VIP cabin.

Natural materials, soft curves, and a calming palette reinforce the yacht's ethos of comfort and sustainability — fully aligned with the brand's Responsible Yachting vision.

Looking ahead

The next phases of construction will see the finalization of insulation and piping, continued electrical installation, onboard interior fit-out, and integration of the hybrid propulsion system.

With sea trials scheduled for early 2026, the GX42 continues to lead the charge toward a new generation of yachts that combine environmental responsibility with luxury and performance.

Part of a larger range from 24 to 56 metres, the GX42 exemplifies GX Superyachts' commitment to building smart, efficient yachts that meet the demands of today's conscientious owners without compromising style or comfort.

"We are pushing the boundary of responsible yachting navigating through a new era of technological advancement, tailoring the dream of Yacht owners into a sustainable reality." concludes Andrea Armas, consultant to the Board of Directors at GX Superyachts.
