23-30 August 2025
Sunny skies and moderate winds allowed two more races Wednesday at the Apotea J/70 European Championship, bringing the total to four out of 10.
Ralph Rosa's Mindset (BRA) kept hold of the leaderboard, adding finishes of 6 and 9 on the day, now with 20 points. Pierrik Devic's Fraser Yachts (MON) inched forward to the runner-up position with 22 points. Luis Albert's Patakin (ESP) ruled day two with scores of 1,2 to jump into third at 37 points.
Hosted by the Royal Swedish Yacht Club (KSSS) with racing off the island of Sandhamn, the starting time was pushed back two hours to allow the breeze to settle in. The discard will take effect after race 5 and shuffle up the standings Thursday.
Herman Horn-Johannessen's Fjärlett (NOR) has taken over the lead of the 35-boat Corinthian Division, while Yann Inghilesi's Ciclone maintained control in the nine-boat One Pro Division.
The top three in race three were Albert's Patakin (ESP), John de Champs's Lexie (SWE) and Devic's Fraser Yachts (MON). Leading the fleet back to shore were Johannes Lind Widestam's Intermezzo (SWE), Albert's Patakin (ESP) and Magnus Tyreman's Tyra (SWE).
Racing continues through Saturday for 64 boats from 17 nations: AUS, BRA, DEN, ESP, FIN, FRA, GBR, GER, IRL, ITA, MON, NOR, POR, SUI, SWE, TUR, USA.
