Catamaran Company adds Vision Yachts to its stable of multihull brands

by The Boat Works 10 Nov 23:08 PST

Positioned as significantly different from the status quo, Vision Yachts is now represented in Australia by Catamaran Company, based at "the catamaran hub"- The Boat Works on Queensland's Gold Coast - the gateway to the east coast and superb cruising grounds of the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef.

"We're thrilled to partner with such a premium and innovative brand as Vision Yachts and introduce it to the Australian market," stated Ian Mackenzie, Director at Catamaran Company which he established in 2003.

Mackenzie has 35 years' experience in boat sales, specialising in multihulls. He said the Vision range of performance cruising cats is second to none when it comes to design, construction and performance.

"The superior structural integrity of both the interior and exterior showcases exceptional build quality, with foam-sandwich hulls and decks for strength and durability. From our headquarters at The Boat Works — a hub for the cruising community — we're proud to represent this standout brand."

Welcoming one of the world's leading brands to The Boat Works, the facility's General Manager Shane Subichin commented, "This partnership is a fantastic addition for our cruising community and perfectly complements The Boat Works' growing base of monohull and catamaran enthusiasts.

"The introduction of such an innovative and high-quality brand strengthens Australia's position as a leading destination for world-class cruising, and we look forward to seeing these impressive vessels at The Boat Works soon."

From their headquarters in Knysna, South Africa, Vision Yachts are built by sailors for sailors using advanced composite engineering. Vision catamarans are renowned for their immense strength and durability, while maintaining reduced weight for enhanced performance under sail.

Bulkheads are structural fibreglass over foam, and fibreglassed in place as a ring frame. All interior furniture is constructed of fibreglass over foam and structurally bonded to the hulls for maximum strength and minimum flex, as all serious ocean-going sailing catamarans should be.

Premium components are seamlessly integrated throughout. For example, only Victron control systems are used, ensuring both functionality and aesthetic refinement at every level.

Prized by cruising couples and families as the ultimate long-range catamarans, Vision are proud of their reputation for quality, craftsmanship and innovation.

Designed for like-minded adventurers, a Vision catamaran offers lasting style, performance, and value and delivers confidently on all fronts: Performance, Safety, Styling, and Ergonomics. Before handover, every Vision cat is thoroughly tested under sail in challenging conditions in the waters off Knysna on the Western Cape of South Africa.

From design to handover, Vision Yachts provides a transparent, supportive build experience, backed by a close-knit community and lifetime owner support, including maintenance and scheduling, instant access to user manuals, onboard inventory management and automated service history, trip and usage history, and expense tracking and reports.

Vision models include the Vision 444 (2024 Cruising World Boat of the Year), Vision 444 ES - Extended Scoop (Best Cruising Catamaran Under 50 Award), and Vision 484 (Launching 2026).

"We are able to provide virtual walkthroughs of the 444ES and 444, and plans for the 484, and prospective owners are able to travel to the factory to inspect the yard and yachts in build, and to have a "try before you buy," said Mackenzie, who added that he would accompany them to the Vision headquarters.

"I am planning a trip in early 2026 and look forward to taking potential buyers to see what all the excitement is about and to try out one of these amazingly well-built sailing cats!"
