Yanmar Power Solutions Co., Ltd., a group company of Yanmar Holdings, is advancing the development of next-generation fuel compatible engines to help realize a decarbonized society.
In anticipation of increased production of marine and land-use engines in the future, the company has acquired land at the Phoenix industrial site in Amagasaki City, Hyogo Prefecture. At the newly acquired site, Yanmar Power Solutions plans to construct a new factory where activities such as test operation of marine hydrogen engines will be conducted. Through this initiative, the company aims to reorganize and strengthen its production system, including existing factories. The new factory is scheduled to begin operations around March 2029.
In the marine industry, efforts are under way to develop and commercialize decarbonization-related technologies toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Leveraging its expertise in engine development and manufacturing, Yanmar Power Solutions will continue to promote the development of powertrains compatible with next-generation fuels such as hydrogen, methanol, and ammonia, as well as establish corresponding production systems.
