THE EXCESS 13 WINS THE BEST SAILING CATAMARAN UNDER 14M AWARD AT SINGAPORE
|
|
|
Excess is excited to share with you that the Excess 13 wins the Best Sailing Catamaran Under 14m Award at the 2026 Yacht Style Awards Ceremony, organized by Yacht Style, Asia's leading yachting lifestyle media.
The Yacht Style Awards Ceremony took place during a glamorous gala dinner on April 22, on the eve of the 2026 Singapore Yachting Festival, at ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove, Singapore. The event brought together more than 300 VIP guests, including yacht owners and prospective buyers, industry professionals, and yacht manufacturers, to celebrate the best of the yachting industry in Asia and internationally over the past year.
The Excess 13 becomes this year's winner for several reasons and concluded as follows by the juries:
"Topping a competitive category, the twin-helm Excess 13 is arguably the best model by a young brand that continues to dial down on its sporty DNA. An Asia-Pacific premiere at Singapore Yachting Festival 2026 following a global debut at Cannes last year, the 43-footer is the brand's first collaboration with Marc Lombard Yacht Design Group for naval architecture and boasts impressive performance for a leisure cat, although it's the simplicity of the sailing setup that really appeals. Covered helms that can be lifted for aft access, and a refreshingly light, colourful interior are among other appealing features."

"Good things come in pairs. Just ahead of its APAC premiere here in Singapore, the Excess 13 received the Winning prize in the Sailing Catamaran under 14 meter category. We would like to sincerely thank Yacht Style for this incredible honor.
The Excess 13 continues to ride a wave of success globally, having won a plethora of international awards, including European Yacht of the Year 2026 and Multihull of the Year 2025.
It has received an exceptionally warm welcome from the global sailing community and is making its debut in Asia-Pacific very successfully, proving that a cruising catamaran can deliver exciting sailing sensations without compromising onboard comfort."

INTERNATIONAL MULTIHULL SHOW 2026:
A SHOW FULL OF HIGHLIGHTS
|
|
|
At this year's show, Excess showcased its full model range and unveiled several exciting developments: a special Riders' Edition, available on the Excess 11 and Excess 14; the release of a documentary about a transatlantic rally, titled "3000 Miles"; and the announcement of the world's first catamaran incorporating recycled and recyclable resin. Let's take a closer look!

UNVEILING THE RIDERS' EDITION
|
|
|
|
At the show, the Excess 11 and Excess 14 on display stood out for their distinctive hull design. Both models are part of the latest Riders' Edition catamarans launched by Excess, bringing together equipment designed to transform the catamaran into a true base camp for riders and outdoor explorers. The Riders' Edition reflects an evolution in the way people sail. The catamaran is no longer seen solely as a comfortable cruising platform, but as a versatile base capable of connecting different activity environments. From a design perspective, the Riders' Edition introduces a new identity: the wave. This exclusive artwork by artist Peïo Brocard brings movement to the hull and reinforces its bold, dynamic character. Excess has partnered with leading outdoor brands that share the same passion for movement and exploration: DUOTONE Sports, Garmin, JAWS, and SUNN Bikes.

At the press conference held on the opening day of the International Multihull Show, Groupe Beneteau and Fountaine Pajot Group announced the creation of E-LEKTRA MARINE—an unprecedented alliance bringing together seven leading sailing brands: BENETEAU, JEANNEAU, LAGOON, EXCESS, Fountaine Pajot Sailing Catamarans, Fountaine Pajot Yachts, and Dufour. This initiative aims to establish a shared standard for electric propulsion and onboard energy autonomy, with a clear ambition: to accelerate the electrification of sailing and support the transition to low-emission solutions, while helping electric systems reach 10% to 15% of the global sailing market by 2030.

Excess marks a major new milestone in nautical innovation by unveiling an Excess 11 featuring, among other advancements, Elium® recyclable resin, a low-carbon resin, and 45% recycled fiberglass. A concrete technological breakthrough that paves the way for a new generation of more sustainable boats.
With this project, Excess becomes the first brand to incorporate this combination of innovative materials into a catamaran. A landmark achievement that opens the door to a new generation of catamarans, where technological innovation and recyclability are fully integrated, with no compromise on the performance and reliability standards sailors expect. By incorporating 45% recycled fibers alongside Elium® resin and a low-carbon resin, Excess is laying the groundwork for a new way of building catamarans.

Over the years, the Singapore Yachting Festival (SYF) has played a key role in accelerating the growth of the Southeast Asian yachting industry by bringing together key stakeholders, while also shaping discussions around lifestyle and regional opportunities. This year, Excess chose SYF as the regional launch platform for its highly acclaimed Excess 13. Our dealer in Singapore, Pro Sail Asia, represented Excess at the show, with special thanks to our dealer in Thailand, Primus Marine, for providing the vessel. The event also marked the official debut of Pro Sail Asia as Excess's dealer in Singapore.
In addition, Pro Sail Asia organized a small gathering for their clients on board the Excess 13 on Saturday, providing a convivial moment to connect and experience the boat in a more intimate setting.
Over the course of four days, the team welcomed a steady stream of visitors aboard the Excess 13—from a new generation of sailors seeking thrills, to experienced sailors exploring their next upgrade, as well as newcomers beginning their journey into boat ownership. Feedback from visitors was particularly positive.

WHAT IT FEELS LIKE TO EMBRACE TRUE FREEDOM AT SEA?

In this inspiring story, the crew of the Excess 14 called "Pelican", family of four share their journey across the Pacific as part of the legendary Pacific Puddle Jump. From preparation to landfall in the Marquesas, this is more than a sailing story—it's a life decision, a turning point, and a new way of living.
Aboard their Excess catamaran, they embraced performance, freedom, and connection to the sea—proving that a catamaran can deliver both comfort and true sailing sensations.
Through Sail Tahiti and the Pacific Puddle Jump, their experience became part of a larger community of sailors chasing the same horizon—crossing oceans, sharing stories, and redefining what "home" can mean.
This is the spirit of the Pacific Puddle Jump.
