World Boating Day 2026 concluded last weekend in spectacular style, bringing together 28 countries across 143 events in a global celebration of life on the water.

From shipyards and marinas to museums and vibrant waterfront destinations, the initiative welcomed industry leaders, families, students and first-time visitors into a shared experience of discovery, connection and adventure on and around the water.

Where craft, creativity and experience meet

This year's programme came to life through a series of hands-on experiences, collaborations and open access initiatives that brought audiences directly into the world of design, craftsmanship and life on the water.

Benetti's "Connecting Excellence" brought emerging yacht design talent together with the creative and technical teams behind its most iconic projects, creating a rare exchange between future vision and real-world expertise. Meanwhile, Feadship supported Social Boat, an Amsterdam-based initiative, enabling guests with limited financial means to experience a memorable day on the water through hosted canal journeys.

Monaco and Balearic Clusters: Curating two flagship regional programmes for World Boating Day 2026

In Monaco, the Monaco Cluster delivered one of the standout programmes of the week, bringing together leading names including Espen Øino, Sanlorenzo MED, La Belle Classe Academy and Yacht Club de Monaco.. The programme featured yacht design insights, educational sessions, family activities and celebrations aligned with the Yacht Club de Monaco' Fête de la Mer, reinforcing Monaco's deep-rooted connection to the sea.

In Spain, the Balearic Cluster hosted a vibrant programme anchored by the Balearic Boating Festival 2026 at Port Adriano, a lively public celebration featuring workshops, gastronomy and interactive activities for all ages. Across Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza, the programme expanded further with guided shipyard visits at Astilleros de Mallorca and STP Shipyard Palma, a contemporary art exhibition at Club de Mar Mallorca, networking events for women in the nautical sector, sailing experiences including the Galaxie voyage, and educational initiatives opening doors to maritime careers.

Action and access: From environmental clean-ups to hands-on learning

A sustainability focus was led by Metstrade, which invited exhibitors, visitors and communities worldwide to take part in a collective action for cleaner waters. In collaboration with Plastic Whale and The Ocean Conservation Trust. Meanwhile, E-WERF and Marée Circle opened their shipyard, offering insight into the future of boating. E-WERF, a leader in electric propulsion, showcased how traditional boats are being converted into cleaner, quieter and more sustainable vessels.

In the United States, the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum partnered with Sail to Shelter to deliver hands-on, creative activities, introducing families and young visitors to boating culture. Meanwhile, at Fort Lauderdale's Pier Sixty-Six, there was a fun and educational celebration focusing on teaching boating basics.

Three years in: a flourishing global initiative on the water

World Boating Day 2026 continued to expand its reach as a truly global moment for life on the water, reflecting a growing appetite to experience boating in more open, accessible and meaningful ways.

Speaking on this year's edition, Dilan Sarac, Executive Director of The Superyacht Life Foundation, said:

"World Boating Day is about opening up the world of boating to anyone with a connection to the water, whether through work, lifestyle or curiosity. Each year we see more communities, partners and individuals come together, and that shared energy is what drives this movement forward."

Preparations are already under way for World Boating Day 2027, with further expansion expected as new regions and partners join the initiative.
