Excess celebrates its official Hong Kong debut with Aquahub at a successful launch party

by Excess Catamarans 16 Jul 09:25 PDT

On July 9th, 2026, Excess Asia-Pacific partnered with our new Hong Kong dealer, Aquahub, to co-organize the Hong Kong Excess Launch Party at Aquahub's facilities in Kwun Tong.

Taking advantage of the Hong Kong stopover of a brand-new Excess 11 during her delivery voyage to the Philippines, Excess Asia-Pacific and Aquahub hosted the Hong Kong Excess Launch Party. The event also marked the official debut of the Excess brand in Hong Kong, a milestone we are particularly excited to celebrate alongside our new partner, Aquahub.

The launch brought fresh energy to Hong Kong's vibrant boating community and offered local sailing enthusiasts the opportunity to discover the unique, performance-driven spirit of the Excess brand.

The launch party began in the afternoon and welcomed approximately 30 guests, including media representatives, influencers, sailing enthusiasts, catamaran enthusiasts, and business partners. The beautifully berthed Excess 11 provided the ideal backdrop for photographs and memorable moments throughout the event.

The Aquahub and Excess Asia-Pacific team welcomed guests on board and guided them through the Excess 11, highlighting the innovative features, sporty design, and unique sailing experience that define the Excess range. Enjoying the beautiful weather and vibrant atmosphere, guests sipped refreshing Sunset Spritz cocktails while exchanging their impressions of the yacht and discussing their passion for sailing.

Commenting on the launch, Cosmas Grelon, Asia Pacific Sales Manager for Excess Catamarans, said:
"I am delighted to have officially launched the new partnership between Excess Catamarans and Aquahub last week on Thursday the 9th of July, in Kwun Tong.

Aquahub's facilities and strategic location provide an ideal platform for representing and supporting Excess Catamarans in Hong Kong. Throughout the evening, we welcomed around 30 guests who visited the Excess 11. She was exceptionally well received by the local sailing community with many guests attracted by Excess' sleek design and impressive performance capabilities.

Aquahub is uniquely positioned in Hong Kong as a dealership able to provide catamaran owners with berthing solutions, maintenance, and haul-out services. I am sure this level of support is a significant advantage for both current and future Excess owners.

I am confident that this partnership between Excess Catamarans and Aquahub will help bring more Excess catamarans to Hong Kong and further strengthen the local Excess Tribe for years to come."

As the entry model in the Excess range, the Excess 11 has achieved both commercial success and industry recognition. Across the Asia-Pacific region, the brand continues to gain momentum and can now be found sailing in Australia, mainland China, Japan, French Polynesia, New Zealand, Thailand, and, most recently, the Philippines.

Some new developments on the Excess 11

  • In 2025, Excess launched the Excess 11 Hybrid, responding to growing demand for quieter cruising experiences and more sustainable sailing solutions.
  • At the International Multihull Show 2026, Excess introduced the Riders' Edition, a special version designed as the ultimate base camp for riders and outdoor adventure enthusiasts. This edition is available on both the Excess 11 and Excess 14.
  • In 2026, Excess announced the development of an Excess 11 incorporating recyclable resin and recycled glass fibers, a technological breakthrough paving the way for a new generation of more sustainable boats.

To date, Excess has established 10 strong partnerships across the Asia-Pacific region. As the network continues to expand, the brand is experiencing strong growth, with an ever-increasing number of Excess catamarans sailing throughout the region.
