Marine Jobs recently welcomed a group of enthusiastic Year 10 students from the King's Trade Training Centre to The Boat Works Gold Coast for an immersive industry tour designed to showcase the exciting career opportunities available within Australia's marine sector.
As these students begin making important decisions about their senior studies and future career pathways, the visit provided valuable insights into the diverse range of marine trades and professions that support our industry. From apprenticeships and technical trades through to long-term career progression opportunities, students gained a firsthand understanding of what a future in marine could look like.
A highlight of the day was the opportunity for students to hear directly from industry employers and professionals about their career journeys, workplace experiences, and the skills and attributes employers value most in emerging talent.
Many of these students will soon commence Certificate II trade programs alongside their high school studies, providing them with practical experience and a strong foundation for future employment opportunities.
Marine Jobs is committed to supporting young people as they explore rewarding careers in the marine industry and helping strengthen the future workforce pipeline for our sector.
We extend our sincere thanks to The Boat Works, Chapman Yachting, and Stella Marine for their generous support and for sharing their time, knowledge and expertise with the students. Their commitment to engaging with the next generation helps inspire future marine professionals and showcases the outstanding career opportunities available across our industry.
