Dear Recipient Name

The NSW Government is set to hit the boating public and industry with the highest taxes in the nation from July 1, according to the Boating Industry Association (BIA). BIA represents hundreds of marine businesses and thousands of workers in NSW supporting the more than 2 million people who go boating each year in the State.

BIA says Transport for NSW had seemingly constructed the plan behind closed doors to significantly raise taxes on boating well beyond CPI, to raise millions of dollars in new revenue. BIA spokesperson Neil Patchett said, "Just a couple of years ago boating proved itself during a global pandemic as a standout option in recreation for people to experience the great outdoors and the social benefits of getting out on the water with families and friends. Now, despite reaping the revenue rewards of increased participation through extra licences and registrations over the past few years, Transport for NSW wants to make what are already the highest boating fees in the nation, even higher."

Meanwhile news from exhibitors at the upcoming 55th Sydney International Boat Show keeps coming. TMG have advised that their show display just got bigger, in more ways than one. With the addition of the PRESTIGE X70 and Lagoon SEVENTY 8, both premieres, this is not only TMG Yachts' largest lineup with six incredible boats but also the largest boats in length they have ever had at this show. Australia has never seen so many PRESTIGE Yachts all at one show either, signalling the arrival and dominance of TMG Yachts as the importer of these world-renowned yachts.

The 11th Australia Tahiti Rendezvous was held across June 20-21 at Marina Taina in Papeete, Tahiti. The occasion provided an excellent platform for the Australians to educate the yachts currently in Tahiti on their cruising options, refit and maintenance facilities and service providers as they continue their journey west in the South Pacific. A total of 20 vessels were educated over the week with captains and crew alike grateful for the hospitality. David Good, CEO, Superyacht Australia said "As often the first stop for vessels after entering the South Pacific, French Polynesia is one of the primary reasons for vessels to come to the region. The Tahiti Rendezvous provides a platform for Superyacht Australia members to connect with the visiting superyachts and to encourage them to continue West, extending their stay in Asia Pacific."
