In the aftermath of the Sydney International Boat Show the attention moves to Queensland and the Brisbane Convention and Entertainment Centre will host over 50 exhibitors and 400 boats. The show opens for three days from 24th August 2018. With space now booked by exhibitors from both the government and the private sectors, whether it's a love of fishing, water skiing, wake boarding or just paddling around Australia's splendid waterways, the 2018 Brisbane Boat Show has something for every water-loving Queenslander.
A barometer indicating the state of industry is reported by Beneteau. During the recently completed Sydney Show (SIBS) 2018, Beneteau presented a stand that included a fleet of thirteen models covering all the Beneteau boating sectors, one world premiere, and three Australian debuts. The sailboat and inboard motorboat display was organized by Flagstaff Marine while the outboard motorboat display was prepared by Chapman Marine. Beneteau's dealers based in different parts of Australia had all gathered at the show and gave generous support to deliver a satisfactory sales performance at the show. The number of the models sold on-site was close to ten.

As part of our global inclusions, the 28th International Boat Builders' Exhibition & Conference (IBEX), held October 2-4 at the Tampa Convention Centre, will not only offer an elevated educational programme and a wide variety of exhibitions from around the world, but will also give visitors the chance to participate in a number of social and entertainment special events throughout the week. These events are in addition to live and ongoing activities such as Designer Row, the Innovation Way, the Electronics Pavilion – Connected by NMEA 2000, and the IBEX Docks and Outdoor Exhibits.
On the same theme we include news of a new company from the UK focused on supplying the Superyacht Industry. Increased demand for quality superyacht deck equipment has led the founders of Superyacht Tenders and Toys (SYTT), Josh and Claire Richardson, to launch specialist deck hardware company Shipyard Supply Co (SSCo). The new business will be headed up by Luke Porter, formerly of Oyster Yachts, and will allow each company to focus on its respective market sectors.
Industry people on the move include the announcement by Mulpha Australia that well-known industry figure and 2017 Marina Manager of the Year (Marine 17) Steve Sammes is the new general manager of the Sanctuary Cove Marina.
Further south, Andrew Moore Marine has been introduced as the new Pittwater sales team for Eyachts. With over 34 years in the Powerboat Industry, Andrew Moore has a wealth of knowledge and experience not only of boats and equipment, but also people.
Raymarine have launched a useful new product. Traditional marine VHF radios keep you confined to the helm with their short handset coil-cords that limit your ability to move about.
