NMMA Members Met with NOAA Fisheries Assistant Administrator Janet Coit at the Miami International Boat Show. Members of the boating industry expressed their concerns about the agency's proposed expansion of the North Atlantic Right Whale (NARW) Vessel Strike Reduction rule.

This was the first time the Assistant Administrator had met with the recreational boating industry about the impact of the rule since it was proposed a year and a half ago in August of 2022.

Pioneer from generation to generation for 140 years, the Groupe Beneteau reaffirms the values that underpin its strength and its capacity for innovation and transformation.

From overseas, the Italian Marine Industry Association, Confindustria Nautica, was present at this year's edition of the Miami International Boat Show, one of the world's most relevant events when it comes to the international yachting scene, in which Italian companies maintain their position as industry leaders. Among the businesses championing the Made in Italy brand overseas are the exhibitors taking part in the business delegation organised by the Italian Marine Industry Association in partnership with the Italian Trade Agency.

Looking to the future, Vision Marine Technologies Inc., (NASDAQ: VMAR), an innovator in the performance electric recreational boating industry, proudly unveiled the Phantom, a rotomolded, recyclable, and hard-to-damage boat at Miami. The design offers significant market advantages through its economic and environmental benefits.

Engineered for efficiency, the Phantom enables Vision Marine to produce up to an estimated 300 units annually at a cost that is 70% lower than that of fiberglass alternatives, with potential scalability to 1,500 units per year.

Further North, Newport International Boat Show joins the growing portfolio of best-in-class boating and yachting events managed by the South Florida Ventures. The Newport Restaurant Group owner and producer of the annual Newport International Boat Show announced today that the Show was acquired by South Florida Ventures to expand and deliver enhanced value to participating marine industry businesses and a seamless and unparalleled experience for attendees.

New Products: Compact yet powerful, ZF's new ZF 3100. A repower transmission series has been purpose-designed for sport fishing boats, allowing these vessels to achieve maximum speed, acceleration, and low-speed manoeuvrability. The ZF 3100 A repower series delivers a massive power range, from 1,900 to 2,444 HP at 2,300 RPM, and features a lighter, compact design that weighs 108 kilograms (240 lbs) less than comparable products.

In addition to helping sport fishing boats reach maximum speed with incredible handling on the water, the ZF 3100 A is shorter in height and length, allowing owners to install engines lower in the vessel. This frees up space for other components during repowers and new construction.
