Riviera, Australia's premium luxury motor yacht builder is inviting prospective apprentices and their families to attend the 2025 Apprenticeship Information Evenings & Twilight Factory Tours to be held on July 23 and 31, 2025.
Hosted at Riviera's world-class 16.8-hectare manufacturing facility in the Coomera Marine Precinct, these evenings commencing at 5.30pm, offer aspiring tradespeople and their families the chance to explore and understand career opportunities with Riviera through the Riviera Academy of Excellence - a truly unique and immersive training and learning experience.
Visitors will experience a twilight factory tour and hear directly from current and past apprentices regarding their journey with the Riviera Apprentice Program which has seen over 300 craftspeople graduate over the past three decades.
Riviera is celebrating its 45th year in 2025 and with over 6,000 motor yachts now being enjoyed worldwide, the company has helped shape the careers of hundreds of master craftspeople - many have been nationally awarded for their excellence and are now in senior roles and management.
"For over 30 years, Riviera has been committed to developing the next generation of marine industry leaders," said Keira Badke, Apprentice and Training Manager at Riviera. "Our Academy of Excellence not only helps to build skills - it also helps to build the futures of our apprentices."
At the heart of this success is Riviera's longstanding commitment to nurturing talent. Since launching its apprenticeship program, Riviera has achieved an exceptional apprentice completion rate of 95% - well above the national average of 55% (National Centre for Vocational Education Research [NCVER], 2024)."
This achievement is a testament to the strength of Riviera's personal and professional development initiatives, including the dedicated support and training facilities provided through the Academy of Excellence. It also highlights the impact of exclusive Riviera programs such as Propel, which offers apprentices the opportunity to enhance essential life skills. Covering topics such as building confidence, developing people skills, financial maturity, leadership and goal setting, the Propel program is designed to place apprentices on a path to long-term personal and professional success.
Knowing that university wasn't the right path for her after finishing high school, Emma Holt began an apprenticeship in Marine Craft Construction with Riviera in 2016.
"I was placed with an incredibly supportive team," Mrs Holt said. "I gave my all to every task, knowing someone might always be watching and noticing my effort."
Her dedication paid off. Following the graduation of her apprenticeship in 2020, Mrs Holt was eventually thrilled to be offered a position as Rivieras Fitout 2 Supervisor - a major milestone and accomplishment at 22 years of age.
The success of the Riviera Apprentice Program also reflects a companywide culture of mentorship and growth, inspired by visionary owner Rodney Longhurst - who began his own career as an apprentice and continues to lead by example.
"The Riviera Academy of Excellence offers our apprentices a unique opportunity to earn an income while they learn, gaining hands-on experience alongside our team of master craftspeople. With dedicated mentoring and access to advanced training opportunities, Riviera apprentices are set on the path to success," said Mr. Longhurst.
These information evenings are held at Riviera Australia, 50 Waterway Drive, Coomera QLD 4209 and are free to attend. Registration is essential due to limited capacities.
