EXCESS FACTORY TOUR 2026 — EXPLORE THE DNA OF EXCESS

On March 21, 2026, the Excess Factory Tour concluded successfully at the Poiré-sur-Vie shipyard. It was a fantastic opportunity for owners and sailing enthusiasts to explore the world of Excess behind the scenes, meet fellow members of the Excess community, and exchange ideas that will help shape the next generation of Excess catamarans.
From hull molding to final assembly — including key production stages and quality controls — the Excess Factory Tour offered insight into technical choices, industrial methods and the meticulous attention paid to every detail. It was also a privileged chance to connect with the people who bring the brand to life every day.
During the two-day event, the Excess team guided our guests through the production site so they could:
- Witness how their current or future catamarans are built.
- See and touch the textures of the modules and bulkheads, giving them a clearer understanding of the overall structure and helping them visualize how their boats function.
- Realize that every single screw plays a role in the manufacturing process, contributing to the integrity and reliability of the finished yacht.
- Gain a deeper understanding of the brand’s philosophy and onboard innovations, while exchanging thoughts and questions directly with the design team.
- Appreciate the expertise and craftsmanship behind every detail, and pay tribute to the men and women of the Excess shipyard who blend precision and passion into each catamaran.
- Fully discover the Excess 11, Excess 13, and Excess 14, exploring three emblematic models that embody the spirit of the brand.

At the factory tour, we also met the proud Excess 14 owners from Melbourne, Australia, a happy family of 4. They were delighted to win the factory-tour door prize: a Garmin quatix 8 Pro 47mm watch, a dream piece of equipment that will keep them connected offshore during their sailing adventure.
Their Excess 14 is named Free Will — their new home for 2026. They will embark on a 12-month sailing voyage aboard Free Will, departing from the west coast of France to spend six months cruising the Mediterranean, then join the ARC across the Atlantic to Saint Lucia for Christmas in the Caribbean. From there they plan to make the Pacific Puddle Jump to Tahiti and, ultimately, continue on to Australia. This boat was sold by our Australian dealer, 38 South Yacht Sales.

The Excess 11 made its first official appearance at Jellicoe Harbour during the New Zealand Boat Show in early March. This sporty cruising catamaran quickly became a talking point on the dock. Designed for sailors who enjoy a more connected and performance-focused experience, the Excess range continues to build momentum locally, and the response from visitors stepping aboard was hugely positive.

The Excess Catamarans has always been warmly-received by the Japanese market. At this year’s Japan International Boat Show, the popular Excess 14 was displayed on-site, organized by our dealer in the country Odyssey Marine.
The Excess 14 offers an unparalleled sailing experience, with helm stations located at the stern, providing direct contact with the rudders and a clear view of the sails. Moreover, she prioritizes comfort and modularity, ensuring a delightful living space for all onboard.
During the show, the Excess 13 was officially named the winner of Multihull Category for the KAZI YACHT AWARD 2025. The president of Odyssey Marine proudly received the award certificate from the KAZI magazine editor in front of the Excess 14. Since its launch, the Excess 13 has already achieved seven International awards including the European Yacht of the Year 2026!

SPOTTED: EXCESS 11 PARTICIPATING THE OWNERS RALLY IN NEW ZEALAND

From March 20th to 22nd, our Excess 11 owners spent a relaxed and happy weekend on the water for the Owners Rally, as part of the PIC Harbour Classic, one of the country’s largest on-water events.
With Saturday morning breathing with clear blue skies and light breeze, the Excess 11 joined the racing fleet in the morning and regrouped off Motuihe Island in early afternoon to engage in the beach games, experiencing the cheerful and home-like vibes of the boating community in New Zealand. REGISTER FOR THE EXCESS CAMPUS 2026

Dear Partners,
Registration for the Excess Campus 2026 is now open. The event will take place from May 20 to May 23, 2026, in Canet-en-Roussillon, France. Over three days, Excess catamaran owners will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of their boat, develop their sailing skills, and connect with the Excess tribe.
The event is reserved for Excess catamaran owners, including those whose boats are currently under production. Owners who have already attended previous editions will not be given priority, in order to allow new members to experience the event.
Registrations are subject to availability. We can host a maximum of 30 participants (a couple counts as 2 participants). A registration confirmation will be sent at a later stage depending on the progress of bookings. Completing the registration form does not constitute a final confirmation of participation.

- hands-on exercises in real conditions, complementing the theoretical sessions.
