Marina Port Valencia and the Valencian Sailing Federation (FVCV) have entered into a strategic partnership to support the growth of sailing and watersports in the city.

The agreement, signed by Santiago Donat, Managing Director of Marina Port Valencia, and Carlos Torrado, Chairman of the FVCV, marks the beginning of an eight-year partnership that will further enhance Valencia's standing as a sailing and watersports hub.

The initiative reflects Marina Port Valencia's commitment, as concession-holder, to fostering a dynamic sailing and watersports community. A central objective of this new chapter is to provide meaningful support to local sport and Valencia's sailing-related companies.

Under the initiative, the FVCV will draw on its expertise to curate and deliver a year-round programme of events, regattas, training initiatives and sponsorship opportunities at the marina. Meanwhile, Marina Port Valencia will underpin these initiatives through financial support and access to its yachting infrastructure.

"This partnership reflects our commitment to the yachting industry and to the city of Valencia, opening up the marina to the wider public through sport and fostering closer collaboration with the institutions that know the sea best", said Santiago Donat, Managing Director of Marina Port Valencia.

"This agreement highlights the excellent synergy between Marina Port Valencia and the Federation to promote the sport of sailing, create opportunities, optimise resources and position Valencia as a sustainable hub for top-tier sailing and watersports. The Federation needs the port for its activities and its growth, while Marina Port Valencia benefits from increased activity, added value and joint development opportunities", explained Carlos Torrado, Chairman of the Valencian Sailing Federation.

The initiative also provides support for sailing-related businesses and specialist service providers operating in the city. With a calendar of events and competitions attracting national and international attention, the idea is to create a direct and positive impact on the local economy, benefiting sectors such as tourism, hospitality, boatyards and local sailing schools. In doing so, Marina Port Valencia is emerging as a top-tier sporting venue and a key contributor to the local economy.

The agreement creates a model that combines the investment and management capabilities of a private-sector initiative with the technical expertise of a public sporting federation. Both organisations point out that the eight-year timeframe provides the stability needed to deliver medium- and long-term initiatives, moving beyond the short-term nature of traditional events. With this shared vision, the foundations are being laid for Valencia to celebrate its rich sailing heritage while building a lasting and sustainable future connected to the sea.
