SUTL planning new marina in Langkawi

Resorts World Langkawi, owned and operated by Genting Malaysia Berhad ("Genting Malaysia"), and ONE°15 Marina, a subsidiary of SUTL Enterprise Limited ("SUTL"), have announced a strategic collaboration to develop ONE°15 Marina Langkawi, a new marina destination set to further strengthen Langkawi's position as a premier yachting and marine tourism hub in Southeast Asia.
Featuring more than 90 berths and the capacity to accommodate superyachts of up to 140 feet, ONE°15 Marina Langkawi is expected to welcome its first yachts in the second half of 2027. The marina will provide high-quality facilities and services for yacht owners, charter operators and leisure travellers while contributing to the continued expansion of cruising infrastructure across the region.
Located in Langkawi, known as the "Jewel of Kedah," the marina will sit at the heart of a spectacular 99-island archipelago and Southeast Asia's first UNESCO Global Geopark. Renowned for its ancient limestone formations, pristine beaches, rainforest-covered mountains and rich biodiversity, Langkawi has established itself as one of the region's most sought-after tourism and cruising destinations.
Upon completion, ONE°15 Marina Langkawi will provide a gateway to the island's celebrated cruising grounds, with access to yacht charters, island-hopping excursions, sunset cruises and bespoke marine experiences. Visitors will also benefit from convenient access to Resorts World Langkawi's accommodation, dining, hospitality and entertainment offerings.
Strategically positioned along the Andaman Sea between Singapore and Phuket, Langkawi is a natural stopover for yachts navigating one of Southeast Asia's most established cruising routes. Combined with its strong tourism infrastructure, international connectivity and duty-free status, the island is well positioned to support continued growth in marine tourism and waterfront leisure experiences.

The collaboration brings together the complementary expertise of Resorts World Langkawi and ONE°15 Marina to establish ONE°15 Marina Langkawi as a distinctive new waterfront destination. The development is expected to enhance Langkawi's marine tourism offering while providing yacht owners, travellers and the wider yachting community with a new base from which to explore the region.
Editor: The location of the new development is not specified, but a comparison between the press release photo (above) and Google Earth makes it fairly clear that this is a project to refit the Awana resort area. It will provide more superyacht berths than currently exist in the other three Langkawi marinas combined (Royal Langkawi Yacht Club, Telaga Harbour, Rebak Marina). This indeed promises to be a useful addition to marina facilities the Andaman Coast, and an important part of the continuing expansion of superyachts and superyacht charter support in Asia.
