The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and Boating Writers International (BWI) honored 13 recipients and two honorable mentions with the 2024 Miami Innovation Awards during the Industry Breakfast at the Discover Boating® Miami International Boat Show®. The Awards recognize manufacturers and suppliers who bring new, innovative products to market.
The judges' committee was comprised of eight BWI members who perform product testing throughout the year and have specific expertise in marine products and equipment. The judges' committee included Ben Stein (Chair), Tim Murphy (Co-Chair), Kelsey Bonham, Kevin Falvey, Alan Jones, Adam Quandt, Gary Reich, and Tony Esposito.
Brunswick Corporation (NYSE: BC) is celebrating another award-winning performance at Miami as its brands and products were honored with 15 awards, a record number of awards for the Company during North America's largest boat show. Furthering Brunswick's position as the leading marine technology company, multiple brands across the organization won awards highlighting innovation, customer satisfaction and marketing excellence.
Hurricane deck boats, legendary innovator in versatile deck boat designs, announced today it has been recognized for a NMMA Customer Satisfaction Index Award. The award, given for superior customer satisfaction throughout the year, was announced on February 15th during the Innovation Awards Breakfast at the Miami show. This is Hurricane's seventh award for customer satisfaction.
Godfrey Marine, manufacturer of pontoons built with enduring quality and superior craftsmanship, announced its Godfrey Pontoon brand has been recognized for another NMMA Customer Satisfaction Index Award too. This is the 18th award Godfrey has received.
NMMA Members Met with NOAA Fisheries Assistant Administrator Janet Coit at the Miami International Boat Show. Members of the boating industry expressed their concerns about the agency's proposed expansion of the North Atlantic Right Whale (NARW) Vessel Strike Reduction rule.
This was the first time the Assistant Administrator had met with the recreational boating industry about the impact of the rule since it was proposed a year and a half ago in August of 2022.

Among the businesses championing the Made in Italy brand overseas are the exhibitors taking part in the business delegation organised by the Italian Marine Industry Association in partnership with the Italian Trade Agency.

New Products: Compact yet powerful, ZF's new ZF 3100. A repower transmission series has been purpose-designed for sport fishing boats, allowing these vessels to achieve maximum speed, acceleration, and low-speed manoeuvrability. The ZF 3100 A repower series delivers a massive power range, from 1,900 to 2,444 HP at 2,300 RPM, and features a lighter, compact design that weighs 108 kilograms (240 lbs) less than comparable products.
In addition to helping sport fishing boats reach maximum speed with incredible handling on the water, the ZF 3100 A is shorter in height and length, allowing owners to install engines lower in the vessel. This frees up space for other components during repowers and new construction.
HARMAN International Industries, the premier connected technologies company for automotive, marine, consumer and enterprise markets, announced today it is rounding out its marine amplifier lineup with the addition of two new JBL Marine Amplifiers. Adding the A758 which is an eight-channel by 75W RMS and the A1504 which is a four-channel 150W RMS amplifier to the existing line, the full lineup consists of six different configurations.
