One of the reasons this marine business newsletter has such diverse content is because we offer all marine companies the opportunity to share their news unconditionally. With over seven thousand subscribers it is evident the formula works.

This week is no exception. The Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show will soon be upon us and we include a number of items from companies advising of their presence. Ribco, a leader in premium high-performance Rigid Inflatable Boats (RIBs), will kick-off the local 2019 Boat Show season with a debut at the Australian Superyacht Rendezvous on the Gold Coast, 17th - 19th May, and the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show (SCIBS), 23rd-26th May. The start of the local show season coincides with the first of Ribco's 2019 releases, the next generation of its luxurious flagship vessel, the 2019 Venom 44, which features a new spacious deck design and the latest triple Mercury Verado V8 engines.

French yacht builder Jeanneau will display the award-winning Sun Odyssey 319 at the show. Don't be fooled by the size of this new yacht, the award-winning Sun Odyssey 319 has been recognised across the world by customers and journalists as one that sets a standard in the small yacht segment. The first of these models into Australia was bought by an experienced sailor who actually stepped down from a large yacht such was the 319's appeal. He named his yacht 'Santai', translated from the Indonesian meaning 'relax', and at 6'4" tall he wanted a yacht that was spacious and set up in a way to be able to do that.

A profusion of power and sail multihulls will also be on show joining some of the world's most respected monohull sailing craft in tempting yachties keen on coastal cruising, racing, circumnavigation and charter. "Given the Gold Coast is the gateway to the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef, SCIBS 2019 is the ideal place to inspect and compare the various brands and their attributes," said SCIBS Sales and Partnerships Manager Dominic O'Brien. "Visitors will be impressed by the amazing range of 'cat' brands and selection of sailing vessels, with experts on hand to answer all their questions on cruising and charter options."

Preceding SCIBS, the Australian Marine Export Group has announced an impressive and diverse line-up of both Australian and international speakers for this year's ASMEX conference. ASMEX is the flagship marine industry conference in Australia and will be held on 20-21 May at the Intercontinental Hotel. Now in its ninth successful year, ASMEX holds a reputation for its provision of quality information, valuable networking and providing industry with opportunities, solutions, and outcomes to grow their businesses. This year the conference theme and focus is "Driving innovation and sustainability" in the marine industry.

Following the show, the Gold Coast Waterways Authority (GCWA) will have a strong presence at the upcoming Marinas19 International Conference and Trade Exhibition on the 27-28 May. Gold Coast Waterways Authority CEO Hal Morris said Marinas19 is a great opportunity to partner with the Marina Industries Association (MIA) and its marina operators and users to promote best practice in managing our waterways."
