Better Boating Victoria (BBV), the Better Boating Fund, and BBV's strategic plan has delivered again. Last week, work was completed, and both Cowes and Kirk Point boat ramps were re-opened.

The photos attached show the great improvement in terms of boater friendly usage, safety, traffic flow and car trailer unit (CTU) parking. This is great timing before Cup Weekend and the upcoming boating season.

For Kirk Point, which is in-between Werribee and Geelong the improvements include a brand new two-lane boat ramp, a new breakwater to protect boaters from southerly and easterly winds, and a total of 14 car and trailer parking bays have been provided beside the boat ramp with an additional 18 bays in the nearby overflow parking area.

Cowes has been vastly improved with a new concrete ramp that is 14m longer, rock revetments, camera installation, and another 20m of jetty with increased lower landing capacity.
