Lombok Marina Indonesia designated Entry and Exit port for foreign yachts

Indonesia has 17400 islands spanning east to west some 2500 NM, it sits no lower than 9 degrees south of the equator. This means no cyclones and where we are a very short wet season, 2 months unlike Singaphore Malaysia and Thailand that have 6 months of pouring rains and squally weather and thunderstorm as well as the top Half of Australia that has a Cyclone season from November to April. During that time in Northern Queensland you cant swim as you get stung.

It has taken seven years to lobby the federal maritime ministry to change legislation and to acquire the first ever "seabed permit" in all of Indonesia which is privately owned by my foreign company Marine Industrial Developments.

The good news is, the early high-risk portion of the project has passed, and our initial $15 million investment in existing Lombok marina has been made.

We plan to take options to build five more marinas next year in strategic well thought out locations that will service cruising Yachts of all sizes, Its interesting to note that Lombok is the only port in Indonesia that can service more than one super yacht up to 300 meters LOA at a time, in fact due to the size and depth of the port, we are probably the largest super yacht port in Asia which is also a clearance port and between two international airports within a hour's drive from the marina. We don't have any draft restrictions.

The initial investment has created a "monopoly", and we now have serious momentum, and is certain to grow quickly particularly because we have just become one of a very few privately owned international clearance port in the world. Lombok Marina is a Integrated marina facility that provides the following services, located halfway between Australia and Singaphore, there is nothing else near comparable. We offer..

Offshore: Lombok Marina Del Ray has 165 meters of brand new western standard pontoons positioned in a depth of 15 meters at MLW. Marina dock A is serviced with 12- 3 phase and 32-220 Volt, powered and water pedestals. Stern too med mooring is available for boats up to 35 meters LOA. Up to 50 Meter LOA by application only. There is no better anchorage near an international airport in Indonesia.

Onshore Facilities: include a 550 square meter Yacht club bar and Restaurant that majestically overlooks our pristine bay which is projected by the surrounding, breath taking, mountain range that provides amazing sunsets. At night the sea becomes phosphorescent, illuminated by the Milky Way and moon rise.

Location: We are 28 miles east of the closest point of Bali. or a 90 minutes each way daily ferry ride from Seranggan in Bali or a

25 minute domestic flight from Bali International to Lombok International airport which has daily international flights from KL, Singapore and China and 10 connecting International flight from Jakarta and Bali.

Fuel supply for up to 200 Tonnes for super yachts (POA) (48-hour lead time required), clearance office, toilets and showers, supply shop, fresh produce, chandler, cold storage, sail repairs, maintenance and advice, super yacht agency, logistics, support, Water Sport and Dive/Surf Center. 4 G Mobile Wi-Fi, 24/7 Security, Laundry Service, Massage.

Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world and yet ironically the last to establish a network of private boat marinas. It has been called the greatest year-round sailing region in the world. Dubbed the Asiana it's the fourth largest sailing destination in the world that hasn't been discovered properly yet, has the best climate Through a Presidential Decree in 2011, Indonesia began the process of opening its borders and making it easier for private yacht owners and commercial vessel operators to visit Indonesian waters. Marine tourism is now being aggressively encouraged. This is no surprise because the global "Superyacht" industry is growing rapidly but lacks suitable storage space which limits the Industries growth (Indonesia provides the solution).

As an Australian marine developer and Captain who has spent 3 decades sailing specifically Asia, I recognized this opportunity and in 2011 began negotiating with the Indonesian government for a seabed permit off the small island of Gili Gede a perfect location for a super yacht Marina. Gili Gede is located 900 meters from the large island of Lombok and can be reached in 60 minutes by taxi from the new Lombok International Airport (daily direct flights to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur) and 90 minutes by boat from the island of Bali.

A seabed permit was issued in 2016. The permit granted Marine Industrial Developments (MID) Indonesian company PT Marine Del Ray the rights to own and operate 2 hectare of Land and 17 Hectares of the only "year round deep and protected Privately owned Superyacht Marinas" in the largest and most ideally suited Archipelago in the world that has no Marinas, this gives the investment a monopoly because it is the largest distance between Singapore and Australia, some 2,500 nautical miles "in the world" where no Marinas exist. Stage one is 2 months from being finished and the new marina will be open for business this summer. The Seabed License is big enough to accommodate up to 500 Yachts and can be expanded to hold 1000 yachts in varying sized up to 300 meters in length.

This project is called Lombok Marina Del Ray and is the first development that will be marketed under a network of ten Marinas spanning the country that will connect Australasia with Asia called MARINDO. Captain La Fontaine's vision is to establish a chain of world-class eco-marinas and resorts in Indonesia. MID has 100% foreign ownership in PT Marine Del Ray, PT Black Moon and PT Lombok Marine Industrial Developments (the legal foreign owners, of the seabed, operational Licenses, Land and Assets and currently operate a Resort, Ferry Business, Dock Yard, Residential Land Development, Fuel Power and water Supply Chain and existing Yacht Charter company).

Lombok Marina Del Ray and Resort is strategically located in the centre of the largest and most ideally suited secure boating playground in the world. Independent demand research shows that by 2023 the marina occupancy will reach 95%, matching the current occupancy that exists in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Philippines and Australia.

Since we began we have lobbied government to delete the luxury tax for the import of foreign yachts, it was 70% if a Yacht is to operate here commercial it must be Indonesian flagged (except for super yachts) this has meant that Indonesia hasn't had a charter Industry, I am happy to report that the legislation has been changed and the luxury tax has been removed, we are waiting on details of the specific legislation. We also expecting the government provide a 6 months cruising Viza and you should already know that yachts can stay in the country for 3 years. This is a game changer if you think about it.
