2019 Yacht Racing Forum to take place in Bilbao, Spain © Yacht Racing Forum

Following a successful edition in Lorient, the Yacht Racing Forum invites members of the yacht racing community from all over the world to Save the Date and join the 2019 Forum, on November 25-26 in Bilbao, Spain. The 12th edition of the Forum will once again provide a unique opportunity to network, debate the future of the sport and make business. Exhibition space is limited!

  • The sports' leading personalities will be present on stage to share their views.
  • The sports' leading brands will exhibit their latest innovations.
  • Yacht clubs and federations will grab the opportunity to promote their venue and the events they organise.

With the trade war between China and the US not looking to improve anytime soon, for the first time, the NMMA is organizing a U.S.A. Pavilion at the 2019 Sydney International Boat Show, August 1 5, to showcase the best US boat builders, equipment manufacturers, marina developers or other businesses that provide products and services to the recreational or tourism boating markets. Australia consistently ranks as one of the industry's top export markets. Currently, Australia remains a strong export market unaffected by the trade war and retaliatory tariffs. And, with a Free Trade Agreement in place, exporting to this vibrant boating market is a viable option for any number of US companies.

A buoyant local market and high demand for products and services have motivated Twin Disc Pacific to commit considerable investment in the opening of a dedicated Gold Coast facility at The Boat Works, Coomera. Located at the entrance of the thriving Gold Coast Marine Precinct, the Twin Disc Pacific Seakeeper Experience Centre comprises over 600 square metres of state-of-the-art showroom with interactive displays of the latest Twin Disc, Seakeeper and Seatorque product ranges, along with warehouse and workshop facilities. A comfortable client lounge for meetings and light refreshments will enable visitors to immerse themselves in the product lines.

Appointments in the industry this week includes Tom Dodson of North Sails. Following a long career in sailing spanning two Olympic Games, numerous America's Cup cycles and everything in between, native Kiwi Tom Dodson has re-joined North Sails as a Sales Expert with a particular focus on the vibrant superyacht segment. Based out of New Zealand, Dodson will bring his knowledge and expertise to an already impressive team and will work with superyacht owners and crews around the world including regattas in the Caribbean and Mediterranean, ahead of the expected influx to the Pacific in time for the 2021 America's Cup in Auckland.

And to all the companies that receive this e-newsletter, feel free to send your latest company news, product releases and personnel changes to us at editor@marinebusinesworld.com. We will post to the site unconditionally. An example of a product update follows in the way of this refresher video from Harken and their popularly-priced Element blocks.
