The Southern Hemisphere's biggest and most comprehensive recreational marine exhibition opens next week at the ICC Sydney and Cockle Bay Darling Harbour, and promises to satisfy everyone who loves boating, or aspires to spend more time on the water.

From prestige watercraft, to practical fishing vessels, tinnies and kayaks, the Sydney International Boat Show is also a fun family day out, presenting an exciting world-class event for everyone who loves boating on the fabulous waterways and coastal areas of Australia. With floor capacity now filled with exhibitors, next week the exhibition space at the ICC Sydney and purpose-built marina on Cockle Bay will feature luxury new water craft, kayaks, jet skis, engines, trailers and accessories, as well as state-of-the-art communications, safety and fish finding technologies.

Among the innovative products on show will be the offerings from Any Port Marine. In the newly designed Sailing Hub, Any Port Marine will be exhibiting an exciting range of sailing products at the forefront of technology. Based on Sydney's Northern beaches, they are the Australian distributors for French brands Karver Sailing, Ewincher and Nodus Factory. The Ewincher made its debut last year at SIBS and since then has made sail handling easier for sailors all around the country on a variety of different yachts.

Among a number of show premieres, Sirocco Marine will host the global launch of the new BRIG Eagle 670, part of what will be the largest display by any exhibitor at this year's show, 1 to 5 August. The BRIG Eagle 670 is the next incarnation of the popular Eagle 650, one of the brand's highest selling models. "Australia is a mature RIB market and an important market for BRIG," explains Neil Webster, the Australian distributor for the Ukrainian-built brand.

Since its launch at the Miami International Boat Show in February 2019, the Ocean Alexander 45 Divergence has certainly attracted a lot of attention. In fact, according to respected boat media and industry pundits, the 45 Divergence has turned the entire centre console market on its head! Alexander Marine Australia will host the much-anticipated Australian launch of this category-busting outboard-powered vessel at the Show. Loaded with cruising gadgets, this exciting new model is the ultimate platform for memorable days out on the water with family and friends.

And while at the show you may want to take the opportunity to win a Simrad NSS9 evo3 Fishfinder/Chartplotter worth $3000. To celebrate their range of powerboats at the Sydney Show, Arvor has joined forces with Simrad to give you a chance to win the Fishfinder/Chartplotter. Just visit the Arvor display on the marina (M186-190), fill in the entry form with three easy questions, and you could win. Interstate friends will not miss out, if you cannot make it to the show the competition entry form will be on arvor.com.au for the five days of the show until the winner is announced at 4pm on Monday 5th July.

In Victoria, sail and power boat dealer 38 South have announced that they have recently been awarded the dealership for the Aventura range of power and sailing catamarans for Victorian, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania. Their AMN partner, Performance Boating, has been awarded the dealership for NSW and Queensland. Managing Director Rohan Veal commented to say that "this is an exciting new venture for 38 South Boat Sales as there has been a huge growth in multihulls in Australia over the last 5 years and Aventura will complement our Jeanneau range perfectly."

On a sad note, Alistair Murray, Chairman of Ronstan, has advised the passing of Ron Allatt, who died peacefully with his wife Jan at his side, on the 19th July, 2019. Ron was 89. Together with Stan LeNepveu, Ron was the "Ron" in Ronstan. The two met in 1946 and raced sailing dinghies together, before teaming up to build boats and make stainless steel yacht fittings. They officially formed Ronstan in 1953 and sold the company in 1977. Ron continued as General Manager until 1981, when he retired to go fishing, bowling, golfing and spending time with his family.
